Project Introduction

Location: China

Project Name: PIS Network in China's Fuxing Hao High-speed Train

Products Deployed: CPGPS-9812GT+

Project Requirement

ORing Realizes Reliable 1110 1

  • A reliable on-board communications network connecting video surveillance systems, audio broadcasting systems, and passenger entertainment systems
  • EN50155 compliance
  • M12 connectors
  • PoE support to supply power for end devices

Solution

The successful operation of the Fuxing Hao train involves a lot of technologies. Besides technologies developed by the Chinese government, the industry, and China Railway, the train also adopts several international technologies which are interoperable with each other.

In light with the wide range of technologies adopted in the train, ORing has provided a highly reliable switching solution for the on-board PIS system. Each compartment is installed with a card-type CPGPS-9812GT+ Ethernet switch to form a PIS network for data transmission. Each of the card-type switches provides a total 20 Gigabit Ethernet ports, including eight copper ports with bypass functions, eight P.S.E copper ports, and four standard copper ports. All of the ports come in M12 form to ensure reliable connection during train movement.

A PIS and video servers are placed in the dining car of the train. The servers transmit all kinds of data such as video, audio, train speed, and train station to each compartment through the on-board PIS network in real time. The CPGPS-9812GT+ switches are connected in link aggression mode which combines multiple Ethernet links into a single logical link. This connection mode not only provides larger bandwidth but also ensures network redundancy. When one of the links is broken, the traffic will be rerouted through the other active links. Link aggression is a key technology for increasing bandwidth, transmission flexibility, and network redundancy.

ORing has long been devoted to providing secure and reliable network communications solutions for the railway industry. Besides applications in high-speed trains, ORing's switching solutions have been widely used in the AFC, CBTC, and PIS systems of subways and trams. ORing is a trustworthy partner with high standard production and management processes as evidenced by the compliance with EN50155/EN50121 and the IRIS certificate.
