Project Introduction
Location: Sudan,Africa
Project Name: Sudan's Railcar Build On-board Entertainment System Products
Deployed: TES-3080-M12-BP2-MV
Project Requirement
- Reliable and stable on-board communications networks
- EN50155 compliance
- Vibration-resistant M12 connectors to ensure robust connection
- Conformability to 110VDC power supply
Solution
The on-board video entertainment system adopts Ethernet technology to transmit video content from the main system to the displays or broadcasting systems in the cars. Passengers can thus watch various video programs or listen to radio programs on their seats. ORing has created a reliable on-board communications network for the entertainment system in the railcar by installing a TES-3080-M12-BP2-MV industrial Ethernet switch in every car. The switches are connected to each other through link aggregation technology. Link aggregation bonds several links together to form a logical link.
The bandwidth after aggregation is the total bandwidth of the links. Link aggregation not only increase bandwidth but also provides redundancy function. When any of the links breaks down, the traffic will be reallocated to the other active links. Therefore, link aggregation is an important technology that can achieve higher bandwidth, transmission flexibility, and network redundancy.
To provide better protection for on-board networks, the TES-3080-M12-BP2-MV is equipped with two bypass ports to prevent single points of failure caused by device errors (hardware breakdown, power supply problems, or software lock-in). The bypass function can ensure uninterrupted networking services, thus preventing business losses.
As the train uses 110VDC voltage, the TES-3080-M12-BP2-MV provides dual power inputs ranging from 72 to 144VDC to ensure steady power supply. ORing has long been committed to providing safe, reliable, and steady industrial networks for rolling stocks, with its products adopted by Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, Beijing–Tianjin Intercity Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway, and Baotou-Lanzhou Railway in China.
ORing has also won several contracts from China's metro companies including the AFC system used in Line 11 and 16 of the Shanghai Metro network, the wireless network at the Shanghai metro's depot, and the CBTC signaling system for Line 8 of the Beijing subway. Apart from compliance with European train standards EN50155/EN5012, ORing is also an IRIS-certified company. Therefore, railway partners can fully trust ORing's high quality of production processes and management.
