Solution
A number of ORing's TAP-620-M12 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless access points and TES-3080-M12 managed Ethernet switches have been installed in the trains to connect a variety of network devices such as surveillance systems, passenger information systems, and passenger entertainment systems.
The ORing Transporter Series solutions are certified with EN50155 and/or EN50121 standards and can thus withstand a wide temperature range and severe vibrations. The M12 connectors further ensure robust network connections in high-speed movement. As a result, the on-board network devices can be guaranteed with high-performance, reliable connectivity.
With support for a variety of redundancy technologies, including ORing's proprietary O-Ring topology and the standard spanning tree protocols MSTP/RSTP/STP, connections can be recovered rapidly when the network breaks down, minimizing the downtime to less than 10ms.
The installation of ORing's Transporter Series solutions has significantly enhanced passenger's travel experience as they can access real-time train information, check e-mails via wireless Internet access, and have fun with the entertainment systems. The wireless connections provided by the TAP-620-M12 are not only used for providing Internet services or other multimedia content for passengers, but also for delivering passenger infotainment data to the control center.
