To meet customers' growing needs for more robust and versatile network management capabilities, ORing today announced an enhanced version of its powerful network management software - Open-Vision 4.0. Through the advanced features of the central management software, such as multi-link topology, traffic monitoring, and customizable topology, managing and monitoring Ethernet devices on the local network will be a no-brainer.
Open-Vision consists of three major components, including a topology view, a centralized management view, and a centralized monitoring view. Customers can manage and monitor all network devices easily and efficiently on a single Web-like GUI which visualizes the network topology with the information of all connections. The enhanced Open-Vision 4.0 is incorporated with more cutting-edge features, in addition to the functions available in the previous version, pushing management efficiency to a higher level.
The new multi-link topology function shows the master and backup links at the same time, the former as a solid line and the latter as a dotted line. Users can also view backup link information such as RSTP backup and port information such as the corresponding port number of a link in the same window.
The Open-Vision 4.0 also provides a traffic monitoring interface which shows the traffic of each port in different tabs and traffic details at the bottom of each page to help users spot abnormal traffic easily. Users can also set upper and lower traffic thresholds. When traffic exceeds the thresholds, users can spot the situation immediately and can use the traffic history to facilitate the investigation.
Users also enjoys more management flexibility with Open-Vision 4.0 as they can customize the topology based on their preferences, such as change link colors, link sizes, or font size. They can also change the device icons for different parameters. Furthermore, they can upload a plan for each floor in the building and position each of the network devices on the plan, thus easily locating devices if maintenance is required.
Open-Vision 4.0 also supports Google Map, so users can view all network devices on Google Map. They can also perform tasks such as configuration, firmware upgrade, backup, and restore across a group of devices at the same time using a variety of wizards, thus significantly reducing management time and efforts. Data can be stored locally or on a remote NAS device. Other key features include topology Ring information which shows the status and port data of O-Ring/O-chain, new support for traditional Chinese and Russian, and support for third-party network devices.
